Who We Are?
How did the BCMC originate and why?
As of 1st January 2024, the BCMC was formed as a standalone club for people who like riding and restoring Classic bikes as well as more modern bikes. The club offer members various opportunities to meet up with like minded people.
Classic in our terms refers to anything over 15 years old, but we positively encourage anyone to join, even if you only have a modern bike, or no bike at all!
It was formed out of discussions between members of the VMCC Banbury section when the future of that club was looking uncertain. Even though the immediate danger to the VMCC was averted, there remained issues that could not be resolved purely under their rules. We therefore now are re-formed in a way that allows us to operate in the manner that suits existing and new club members, but also continue providing the VMCC section services, as before, for those who wish to continue with VMCC membership as well
Although as I write this we are still very new, we have plans to broaden the appeal of the club by trying new format events, and hopefully attract new members with fresh ideas. Please get in touch and come along to see if we are for you.
We will continue to promote membership of the VMCC where the benefits of that organisation would enhance the experience of our members.
